Best practices for working with older youth in foster care : critical worker competencies as reported by youth in foster care and independent living : focus group results

A study used focus group methods to elicit feedback from foster youth about helpful and non-helpful child welfare worker qualities and traits. The 24 focus groups, containing 125 foster youth, were conducted in Michigan, Ohio, and Oregon. To maximize diversity, the focus groups included 81 youth still in care and 22 emancipated youth.
