Please join us for the webinar: Ensuring Success in Telehealth: What Staff Need to Know. This is the first webinar in the 12-webinar series, Minimizing Disruptions in Care Through the Use of Behavioral Telehealth (Video and Phone). The goal of this webinar is to increase participant’s ability to prepare themselves and their clients for successful behavioral telehealth and telephone sessions. It will include information on HIPAA compliance as well as offer practical strategies providers can use when getting ready and during a telehealth session. Learning objectives include:
Increase knowledge about creating an environment using telehealth that supports recovery oriented clinical interventions
Improve skills in being present during telehealth sessions and maintaining focus on both immediate needs and long-term goals
Increase ability use techniques that convey empathy to support engagement during telehealth
This webinar series is intended to not only build skills in telehealth, but also to highlight some of the learning from the field in offering behavioral telehealth services. We want to hear from you so please bring your innovations, success stories and learning from your own transition to telehealth resulting from COVID-19.
Elizabeth Morrison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a Masters in Addiction Counseling. She is a practicing clinician, providing services to MediCal and uninsured patients in a primary care clinic. Elizabeth has been providing services via telephone, video, and text since the Shelter in Place order began. She has over 15 years of experience in developing effective and sustainable Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) services in primary care organizations. She wrote the first widely distributed ‘how to’ manual on IBH. A thought leader in the field, Elizabeth has also served on integrated care advisory boards for the California Primary Care Association and the UCSF School of Medicine. She is an expert Motivational Interviewing (MI) Trainer and has been providing research-based training and Train the Trainer courses in MI and other empathy-based communications for healthcare professionals for over 20 years.
Eric Haram is owner of Haram Consulting LLC, a health and behavioral healthcare consulting firm. Haram Consulting LLC offers technical assistance for all aspects of strategic planning, workforce development and clinical and business systems design for states, institutions and organizations. Eric’s professional experience includes 30 years delivering, designing and directing substance abuse treatment services in hospitals, correctional facilities, and community behavioral health centers. As a national consultant, Eric provides expertise in 11 states, from California to West Virginia and including his home state of Maine. He also provides countless hours of advocacy for improved access to addiction and mental health treatment in the Maine State Legislature and was President and Board Chair of the Maine Association for Substance Abuse Programs from 2007-2013.
