Transition-Age Young Women Initiative

Transition-age youth in the mental health system was defined as those youth between the ages of 14-25 who had been in the children’s mental health system and may be transitioned or moved out of the Children’s System of Care into the Adult System of Care, or who may not have be eligible for any public services as they reach adulthood.

The WMHPC completed the research on the evidence-based mental health practices for transition age young women. This report brought a significant contribution to the field of gender sensitive mental health services and discussed the mental health practices, supported by scientific evidence, which improved the outcomes for transition age women served by the mental health service system.
